Key Features
  • Joins 240mm² aluminium cable to 35mm² copper cable
  • Friction-welded aluminium-to-copper transition reduces the risk of electrolysis at the dissimilar-metal joint
  • Chemically treated barrel helps reduce contact resistance and corrosion
  • Pre-filled aluminium barrel jointing compound helps disrupt oxide formation
  • Designed for crimp installation using standard Australian tooling
  • Suitable for electrical power connectivity and cable jointing applications
  • Manufactured to Australian cable accessory dimensional requirements
Professional Installation Requirements
  • Installation must be performed by a licensed or suitably qualified electrician on isolated and de-energised cables. Use the specified CABAC crimping tools and dies, follow the manufacturer's crimp sequence, and install in accordance with AS/NZS 4325.1 and applicable wiring rules.
Applications
  • Joining aluminium distribution cable to copper cable
  • Electrical power distribution installations
  • Underground and industrial cable jointing
  • Transition connections between aluminium conductors and copper equipment or cable sections
Standards & Compliance
  • AS/NZS 4325.1:1995, Compression and mechanical connectors for power cables with copper or aluminium conductors, Part 1
Environmental Benefits
  • Aluminium and copper components are recyclable at end of service life
  • Friction-welded construction and corrosion-resistant treatment can extend connection service life and reduce replacement waste
  • The bi-metal transition enables the use of aluminium cable where suitable, potentially reducing conductor material mass compared with equivalent copper cable installations
