Solar Cable

Solar Cable: DC Solar Cable Rolls and Enphase Q Cable for Solar Installers and Electricians

Solar cable lives on a roof or ground frame, so UV and weather exposure are part of the brief. This range covers DC solar cable from 4mm² to 10mm² and Enphase Q Cable for microinverter AC runs. For rooftop strings, the 6mm² 1500V dual core DC solar cable on a 100m roll is a practical starting point.

What's in This Range

• 4mm² 1500V dual core DC solar cable, 100m roll — UV and weather resistant insulation, with AS/NZS 5033:2021 listed on the product page.
• 10mm² 1500V dual core DC solar cable, 50m roll — 10mm² conductor in a shorter roll, with UV and weather resistant insulation.
• 6mm² 2 core Electra Cables solar PV cable, black, 100m — tinned copper, XLPE insulation and a UV resistant PVC sheath, rated 0.6/1kV.
• 4mm² single core Electra Cables solar PV cable, black, 100m — XLPE insulated and sheathed, rated 0.6/1kV and -40°C to +90°C.

Who Uses This

Installers on residential rooftops, commercial roof arrays and ground-mounted systems use the DC solar cable and PV cable for array wiring between the panels and the inverter. Crews fitting Enphase microinverters use Q Cable for the AC run across the array.

Solar Cable — Common Questions

Does a microinverter system use the same cable as a string system?

No, the cabling differs. String systems run DC solar cable back to the inverter, while microinverter systems link each unit with AC cabling. The single phase Enphase Q Cable with 1.3m connector pitch comes with connectors already fitted.

How do I choose a Q Cable connector pitch?

Pitch is the spacing between connectors, so it follows the panel layout. The 1.3m pitch is listed for portrait modules, and the 2.0m pitch Q Cable for landscape modules suits landscape layouts. Check the phase configuration on the product page before ordering.

What solar cable size and roll length should I order?

Conductor size follows the circuit design and the Wiring Rules, so confirm it against the system design first. Rolls here are 50m and 100m, in single core and dual core, so match roll length to the run to avoid unnecessary joins.

Why Choose SCHNAP

• Electra Cables PV cable and Enphase Q Cable sit alongside DC solar cable rolls, so one order covers string and microinverter jobs.
• Stocked from 4mm² to 10mm² in 50m and 100m rolls, in single core and dual core.
• AS/NZS 5033 is listed on the DC and PV cable product pages, with a 30-day return policy, trade discounts and Australia-wide delivery.
