You’re commissioning a plant area where an operator needs to see and hear a warning from the same point, but the obvious-looking beacon on the shelf may not suit the voltage, environment or sound level. A sounder beacon solves that combined signalling problem, but the useful specification is not just the headline dB figure.

For a typical industrial installation, start with the actual warning scenario, then work through sound output, tone selection, supply voltage, IP rating, visual indication and mounting. Start With the Warning Scenario

Picture a machinery area where the warning needs to be recognised quickly from across the floor. Instead of trying to coordinate a separate horn with a separate beacon, you are choosing one assembly whose light and sound functions are designed to operate together. The trade-off is that the combined unit still has to meet the requirements of both functions.

Common Mistakes When Choosing a Sounder Beacon

Choosing by dB alone. A high sound output does not compensate for the wrong voltage, enclosure rating or mounting arrangement. In a real plant, the right device is the one that fits the whole installation.
